    Understanding Spot Placement Scores

What they are: Spot Placement Scores (1-10) indicate how likely it is that your Spot Instance request will succeed in a region or AZ at the current moment.

How they work: Scores are contextual - they depend on your entire request including instance types, target capacity, and current AWS capacity. More instance type flexibility typically yields higher scores.

    Score meanings:
🟒 8-10: High likelihood of success - excellent capacity availability
🟑 5-7: Medium likelihood - capacity available but more limited
πŸ”΄ 1-4: Low likelihood - limited capacity, consider alternative regions/types

Placement Scores vs Interruption Rates: Placement scores predict your ability to obtain capacity (launch success), while interruption rates show historical data aboutlosing capacity (termination frequency). Use both metrics together for optimal Spot strategy.

Important: Placement scores are real-time snapshots, not guarantees. They're updated every few hours and can change based on overall AWS capacity and demand.
